Peaky Blinders fans react to Uncle Jack appearance as they eagerly await Stephen Graham role

Episode two of the final season of thrilling BBC drama Peaky Blinders aired on Sunday evening, and a new face, but familiar name, graced the streets of Birmingham.

The uncle of Gina Gray, Jack Nelson, appeared on the series for the first time as he came across main man Tommy Shelby in a church.

Played by Australian James Frecheville, Uncle Jack is a high power in the alcohol imports business, and is an influential figure in Anna Taylor-Joy's character, Gina's, life.

So, when he was rumoured in episode one to be on his way to England, many fans were speculating that Scouse actor Stephen Graham may be the man behind the powerful mask.

Fans were expecting the great 'Uncle Jack' to be much older and harder-looking, which is where the calls for Graham to be in the role of Jack came in.

Fans of the show took to Twitter to discuss their theories and thoughts on the latest episode, with one user saying: "All this time I was thinking Jack Nelson was gonna be some balding old man."

Another tweet read: "That's Jack Nelson? Not some older bloke?"

And a third even said: "o Stephen Graham isn't Jack Nelson? That's a surprise. Perfect role for him to be the protagonist rival head of Boston Vs Tom Hardy and the Shelby clan."

One Twitter fan couldn't believe their eyes, writing: "As if Uncle Jack isn't Stephen Graham."

However, fans will have to wait to see the formidable actor Stephen in the show, as his character is yet to be announced in the series.

Peaky Blinders continues Sundays at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
