Cillian Murphy has undergone major loss for his latest role in the American blockbuster Oppenheimer.
The Peaky Blinders actor lost a stone for his portrayal of J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who is one of those who was credited with being the "father of the atomic bomb".
Cillian, 46, is currently in Los Angeles filming for the Christopher Nolan-directed film.
He looked rather different from the usual smooth gangster personality he is known for in BBC's Peaky Blinders.
In the snaps, Cillian wore a loose-fitting grey suit with a white button-up shirt and a short green tie.
He didn't hold the same intimidating stature that his other character Thomas Shelby usually has.
Cillian also wore a large brown hat that covered a lot of his skinnier face.
The actor is known for his collaborations with Christopher Nolan and even portrayed Scarecrow in the Dark Knight trilogy.
Last month, he was spotted on set filming for Oppenheimer in Princeton, New Jersey.
The Universal feature, which has started production in New Mexico, also added Kenneth Branagh to the call sheet, along with actor Michael Angarano.
The star-studded cast includes Emily Blunt as Kitty Oppenheimer, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek and even more.
Gary Oldman and Casey Affleck are also making appearances in the World War II film.
Matt, 51, has taken on the role of General Leslie R Groves, who was the commanding general of the Manhattan Project which built, designed and tests the world's first atomic weapons.

The movie is based on American Prometheus, a biography of Oppenheimer written by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.
The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 21, 2023, by Universal Pictures.
Meanwhile, Peaky Blinder's season six finale only ended at the beginning of April.
Steven Knight, the creator of BBC ’s hit gangster drama, confirmed that a film, originally announced back in January 2021, will be released as the final chapter of the thrilling series.
He already confirmed that both Cillian and Paul Anderson will reprise their roles as Shelby brothers Tommy and Arthur.
It was also revealed that the late Helen McCrory, who was Aunt Polly Gray in the first five seasons, will "remain a fundamental part of the movie."
