As Rajasthan Royals (RR) prepare to face Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Saturday, all eyes will be on Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has made headlines off the field but is yet to fire with the bat this IPL season. After switching from Mumbai to Goa amid controversy, the young left-hander has struggled for form, managing scores of just 1, 29 and 4. With Sanju Samson returning as captain, RR will hope Jaiswal steps up to support a batting unit that relies heavily on its skipper.
The Royals were far from convincing under stand-in skipper Riyan Parag and now face a stern test against an in-form Punjab side led smartly by Shreyas Iyer. Iyer has been in red-hot form, smashing back-to-back fifties and already matching his last season’s six tally in just two games. His tactical captaincy and improved power-hitting have made Punjab serious contenders early in the tournament.
