Prestwick Airport chiefs have agreed a new pay deal for staff after announcing profits.
Bosses at the travel hub have given workers a huge boost which will see wages increase over two years as well as support with the cost-of-living crisis.
It comes as Ayrshire's Airport confirmed operating profits of just under £2m, representing a fifth consecutive year of improved results.
As part of the new deal workers will this year receive a minimum of 6 per cent pay increase and the Real Living Wage (RLW) of £10.90 per hour.
The new deal also includes a rise in pension contributions and an additional one-off payment of between £1,000 and £1,250 to help with the cost of living.
A further four per cent increase in pay is set for 2024 as well as further increased employer pension contributions.
The new pay deal was backed overwhelmingly by staff with 88 per cent and 94 per cent of members from the Unite and Prospect trade unions accepting the deal.
Ian Forgie, chief executive, Glasgow Prestwick Airport said: “Over the last five years we have been steadily growing as a business supported by our dedicated staff, and I am pleased that we have been able to agree this two year pay deal.
“We will continue to unlock the airport’s potential by investing in facilities and our staff, as we progress a number of opportunities to deliver steady growth."
