MUMBAI: The powerful Sharad Pawar Group on Monday named its candidates for the elections of the Mumbai Cricket Association, scheduled to be held on October 20.
Former India batsman Sandeep Patil is the group's presidential candidate, while Navin Shetty (Vice-President), Ajinkya Naik (Secretary), Gaurav Payyade (Jt Secretary), Jagdish Achrekar (Treasurer) are the other candidates for the officer-bearer's posts from the group.
Abhay Hadap, Kaushik Godbole, Sandeep Vichare, Prashant Sawant, Dawood Patel, Vighnesh Kadam, Rajesh Mahant, Surendra Harmalkar and Surendra Shewale will all contest for the Apex Council member posts from the group.
Musheer to lead Mumbai in Under-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy
Talented allrounder Musheer Khan was on Monday named the captain of the Mumbai side for the Vinoo Mankad U-19 (One-dayers) Trophy at Haryana. The tournament will kick off on October 7. Musheer had led Mumbai to the Cooch Behar Trophy (Under-19) final last season.
