Paulo Dybala 'set for talks' as another £67m forward 'prefers' Liverpool transfer deal

The January transfer window is still open, which gives Liverpool the chance to bolster their squad.

Wijnaldum is 'keen to return to the Premier League', according to recent reports.

The Dutchman has been linked with a return to both Liverpool and Newcastle United in recent time ,- with Tottenham Hotspur also said to hold an interest.

It has now been claimed that Arsenal is a more likely destination for WIjnaldum, with reports claiming that the player wants to return to England.

Kaveh Solhekol told Sky Sports’ The Transfer Show that a move to the Emirates is 'appealing' for Wijnaldum.

"The situation is Gini Wijnaldum is out injured at the moment," Solhekol said.

"He's not going to come out in public and say, 'I want to leave PSG', because you wouldn't want to spoil your relationship with the fans.

"But what we're being told is he would like to return to the Premier League. I'm not saying he wants to return today, this week or even in the summer, but he would like to return and we keep being told he would like to play for Arsenal.

"They're a club he admired a lot when he was growing up. It's definitely something that appeals to him."

According to the report, Diaz 'favours a move to Liverpool' amid interest from Tottenham.

Spurs reportedly had a bid rejected for the player, with Porto only willing to part ways with the winger if his £67million release clause is met.

Now, rumours in Portugal are circulating that Liverpool remain in the running for the player as he favours a move elsewhere.

It has been claimed that Diaz is not convinced by a move to Tottenham as he believes he can 'reach a higher level'.

Amid links with the likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Manchester United, the report suggests Diaz is in no rush to make a decision on his future.

Jornal de Notícias, via Sport Witness, goes on to say that Liverpool have not given up on their pursuit of the Colombia international.

According to the report, Liverpool are expressing an interest in signing Dybala at the end of the season, and are set to open talks over a deal.

The report states that Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Dybala’s situation at Juve for some time, with a view to possibly making a move.

Dybala’s current deal with Juventus expires at the end of the season, with the report claiming that Liverpool are considering signing the Argentina international on a free transfer.

However, it has also been claimed that Dybala is set to meet with his representatives and the Serie A giants to sort out his future.
