Paul Pogba has thanked Manchester United and the club’s fans as he prepares to exit Old Trafford this month.
The French international’s second Red Devils departure at the end of his contract was officially confirmed in a club statement released earlier on Wednesday.
“The club can announce that Paul Pogba will leave Manchester United at the end of June, upon the expiry of his contract,” United said.
“Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Paul on his successful career, and thank him for his contributions to Manchester United. We wish him all the best for the next steps on a remarkable journey.”
Pogba has since released his own short farewell message on social media, insisting it was a “privilege” to play for Manchester United again as he thanked fans for their “unconditional support”.
I feel privileged to have played for this club. Many beautiful moments and memories but most importantly an unconditional support from the fans. Thank you @ManUtd pic.twitter.com/YLT3lUHOmT

Alongside a video of some of his United highlights, Pogba wrote: “I feel privileged to have played for this club. Many beautiful moments and memories but most importantly an unconditional support from the fans. Thank you, Manchester United.”
Pogba’s next destination is not yet known, but he has been most heavily linked with a return to Juventus, the club for whom he initially left United back in 2012 before later departing in a then world-record £89million transfer in the summer of 2016.
Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have also been frequently mentioned in connection with the 2018 World Cup winner, who reportedly turned down an ambitious approach from Premier League champions Manchester City last month.
