Paul Pogba may have been targeted by same burglars who robbed his Man Utd teammates

Manchester United star Paul Pogba may have been burgled by the same people who robbed his Old Trafford teammates, police believe.

The 29-year-old former Juventus midfielder offered his social media followers a reward for anyone who was able to update him with any information on the gang who broke into his home. The offence occurred while Pogba was playing for his side against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16.

A black Audi estate spotted near his house is thought to be the same car that has been seen close to the homes of at least two other players targeted by the gang. Police tasked with investigating the incident are also exploring whether there is a link to the recent raid on Joao Cancelo's house that left him bruised facially just before the turn of the calendar year.

A source told The Sun : "There is a lot of CCTV and home security footage so the police are doing a lot of work around that. The car has false plates but officers are making progress." Pogba's wife Zulay was at the game watching her husband, meaning the couple's two children were left with a nanny.

Pogba previously explained his concern at being unaware whether his kids were safe during the robbery. Taking to social media to reflect on what he dubbed his "worst nightmare", the World Cup winner wrote: "Last night our family's worst nightmare was realised when our home was broken into and burglarised while our babies were sleeping in their bedroom.

"The burglars were in our home for less than five minutes but in that time they took from us something more valuable than anything we had in our home… our sense of safety and security. This occurred during the final minutes of last night's match when they knew that we would not be home.

"My wife and I rushed home not knowing if our children were safe and unharmed. As a father there is no feeling worse in this world than not being there to protect your children and I sincerely hope that no one ever has to feel what I felt last night.

"It is for this reason that I would like to offer a reward for anyone who has a clue to help us. Please send any info to rewardpogba@gmail.com." A safe containing two designer watches and "irreplaceable" items was stolen from the midfielder's home.

Pogba's teammate Victor Lindelof was also raided while playing for the club away at Brentford. His wife locked herself and two children in a panic room while robbers were in the house. Jesse Lingard's house was also targeted while United were away at Aston Villa in mid-January.
