The Kyrie Irving trade to the Dallas Mavericks from the Brooklyn Nets was always a bit of a Hail Mary. The Mavericks hoped the mercurial ex-Boston Celtics point guard would not only fit into his new team on both ends, but also elevate the game of his superstar teammate Luka Doncic.
With rumbles that Doncic might already be irked with his current situation despite saying all the right things when asked about it, will the Mavs try to bring Irving back on a long-term deal, or will they let him walk given how poorly things have gone for Dallas so far?
