Paul O'Grady will make a posthumous return to ITV for the final series of his much loved show For The Love of Dogs, following his death at the end of last month.
In the early hours of Wednesday, March 29, the sad news broke that much loved entertainer and staunch activist Paul had passed away at the age of 67, with Paul's husband Andre Portasio telling the world: "It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening. We ask, at this difficult time, that whilst you celebrate his life you also respect our privacy as we come to terms with this loss.
“He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion. I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years.”

In the hours that followed his death, ITV revealed a series of changes to its schedule to honour Paul, with the royal special of For The Love of Dogs, replacing The Chase on March 29 and a special For The Love Of Paul O'Grady set to air on April 9.
And, for one final series, viewers will get have their hearts warmed by Paul in his massively popular series For The Love of Dogs. A show that is always guaranteed to pull on the heartstrings, the new run from Battersea Dogs Home is set to be even more emotional in the wake of Paul's passing and it will begin on Thursday, April 13 at 8.30pm on ITV1.
A teaser for episode one of the last series reads: "Paul falls head over heels with a Newfoundland that needs major life-changing surgery on its back legs. He also meets a labrador cross that is obsessed with water and keeps flooding its kennel and helps a terrified bichon frise that was found wandering around a forest."
