The late Paul O'Grady was one of the winners of one of the television industry's biggest prizes this evening. The comedian and TV presenter's show Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs was given the prize for best factual show at The TRIC Awards 2023.
O'Grady's love of dogs was famous across Britain and after his unexpected death in April this year, his fans brought out their four-legged friends in droves to pay their respects at his funeral. His show won out in the factual category, beating The Martin Lewis Money Show, The Repair Shop and The Queen: 70 Glorious Years.
Former politician and Brexiteer Nigel Farage also walked away with a trophy at tonight's awards. He picked up his for best News Presenter.

But the biggest prizes of the night are the soap awards. Coronation Street missed out in both the Soap of the Year and Best Soap Actor categories. Emmerdale won Soap of the Year, while Danielle Harold won the Soap Actor prize for her portrayal as Lola Pearce-Brown in EastEnders.
Away from the silver screen, ex-footballer Peter Crouch took home the trophy for best podcast for his show That Peter Crouch Podcast. Roman Kemp was named Radio Personality of the Year.
