Paul Mescal’s mother Dearbhla has revealed she forgot to bring her phone to the BAFTAs.
But the Kildare native, who is undergoing chemotherapy treatment, admitted she was “in the moment” as she enjoyed partying with some of Hollywood’s top A-listers at the star studded bash in London.
She told her followers on Instagram: "I’m very grateful. Imagine I forgot my phone. There was a reason, I was right there in the moment, guys.

“It is now I think half past two and I am ready for my bed to sleep.
“What an amazing gift this was to be a part of this incredible crazy ride.”
Earlier in the night, Dearbhla said: “I’m nervous, excited, joyous, happy. I’m not actually too sure what else, all the other emotions but we’re in good form.”
Paul missed out on the BAFTA this time, with Austin Butler winning the award for Leading Actor while Cate Blanchett took the award for Leading Actress.
It was revealed last month Dearbhla is currently undergoing treatment for a type of bone marrow cancer – but the former Garda is determined to enjoy her son’s massive success as he gears up for the Oscar’s next month.
Paul said his family will all fly out to LA to be part of the celebrations.
