Despite being overlooked for Best Actor, all eyes were on Aftersun star Paul Mescal after he was snapped with his lovely mum Dearbhla who he brought as his date to the Oscars.
The Normal People hearthrob treated his mum to the red carpet event, as she continues to fight a battle with cancer, undergoing chemotherapy for a type of bone marrow due to a diagnosis of Multiple myeloma.
Dearbhla had been enjoying interviews on national TV and radio in Ireland, saying how proud she, her husband Paul and her daughter Nell all are of her 27-year-old son.

Leading up the big night Paul himself said: "It's a dream to bring your mum to the Oscars!"
Speaking to Variety Magazine at the Los Angeles theatre last night, Dearbhla, who works for An Garda Síochána said: "This is just an incredible moment and it's real. It's actually not fantasy it is real."
When asked what her reaction was when Paul first said he wanted to become an actor, the all-smiling Dearbhla, who first discovered she was sick last July, said she simply "trusted him."
"He knew what he wanted to do and we said let's go with it," she added.
