Paul Merson has issued his own fresh top four verdict following Tottenham's 3-0 victory over Arsenal on Thursday evening. A Harry Kane brace and a third goal from Son Heung-min sunk Mikel Arteta's side, following Rob Holding's dismissal during the first 45 minutes.
Spurs now sit just one point behind the Gunners in the Premier League table, with strugglers Burnley and the relegated Norwich City still to come. With Arsenal having a slightly more difficult run in to come in the shape of Newcastle United and Everton, Merson was appalled to see his former side perform in the manner which they did.
"I could not believe what I was watching. They have opened the door to the top four now and I’d be shocked if Tottenham don’t win their last two games," wrote the 54-year-old in his Daily Star column.
