Paul McCartney shares his favourite Beatles song and it may not be what you expect

Music legend Paul McCartney has revealed his favourite Beatles song.

The Liverpool native rose to fame as co-singer, songwriter and bassist for the rock powerhouses, releasing a stream of hits over decades. It would be understandable for the star to struggle to pick a favourite track given the calibre to choose from.

However, in an interview a few years ago the 79-year old revealed his personal favourite from the Beatles' catalogue. Appearing on the Zane Lowe show, Sir Paul revealed that while the Beatles song he's listened to the most is Let it Be, it's not his favourite Fab Four track.

His favourite song is, surprisingly, You Know My Name (Look Up the Number) - the B-side for Let it Be. The reason Sir Paul cites this as his favourite track is reportedly down to the fun experience he had recording it. Let It Be was released on March 6, 1970 as the band's final single.

It went on to sell almost 3 million copies worldwide and reached number one in many countries. Featuring saxophone from Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones, the song is a must listen for all Beatles fans.

In a recent poll, Hey Jude was voted as the nation's favourite Beatles song. What is your favourite Beatles song? Let us know in the comments.
