Speaking to hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp, the 53-year-old said: "It was slightly nerve-wracking. I didn't realise going into it, the nature of recording studios is they don't actually have very many photos.
"The etiquette is you don't film in a recording session because it's a private space to record, so I rely quite heavily on the interviews.
"So I needed a lot from [my dad], he needed to tell the story".
A clip of the chat was shared on The One Show's official Instagram account on Tuesday, and it prompted many fans to comment on Mary's likeness to Sir Paul.
Anna said: "Mary is so beautiful! What energy, she has the same grit as Paul, besides looking so much alike.", while Dolly said: "Wow you are the image of your father". Lauren said: "Gosh she is so like her dad, beautiful".
