Paul Gascoigne has been embroiled in a heated TV clash with Chris Eubank on Scared of the Dark, with the boxing star ordering Gazza to 'stop talking tragically' about his life.
Football legend Gazza and sporting and showbiz icon Eubank are both contestants on the terrifying new Channel 4 show, which pushes famous faces to their limit as they are forced to try and live in a pitch black space called The Bunker for 180 hours. Hosted by Danny Dyer, Scared of the Dark will air its fourth episode on Wednesday night after a very dramatic one played out to viewers on Tuesday.
Appearing as a guest on monday's This Morning, Gazza admitted he feared there could be some tension between himself and Chris as soon as he heard his voice in The Bunker and his prediction proved to be spot on as, after a few niggles, including Gazza winding Chris up by calling him 'Eubanks,' the two were at loggerheads in a fraught scene that unnerved their co-stars.
Former Spurs and England player Gazza was asked by his fellow contestants on the 'worst night of his life,' to which he explained how he had once been sat next to a passenger on a plane who tragically died during take off.
Gazza , who had just come out of rehab, had accused the man of 'blanking him' when he tried to tell him he was scared of flying, only to be told by crew that he'd unfortunately passed away.
Chris was unimpressed with Gazza's story and told him: "I would like you to stop talking so tragically about your life,' to which the footballer sarcastically replied: 'Oneself will try.'
An angry Chris shot back: Stop talking about your life so tragically." but, standing his own ground, Gazza then insisted: 'I'm not here for you, or your family, or your kids, I'm in here for me, to challenge myself.'
Chris then told him: "'Why would you tell stories which are tragic? As though they are inspiring, no they are tragic."
Viewers were quick to hit out at Chris online, with one tweeting: 'Chris Eubank is really getting on my nerves. He is an interesting character, but he is being picky, almost nasty, for no good reason,' and a second reacting: 'How are these people surviving with Chris Eubank pls'
