Patti LaBelle rushed off stage after bomb threat

A bomb threat at a Patti LaBelle concert in Milwaukee caused the theater to be evacuated, but no explosives were found, police said Sunday.

LaBelle was rushed off the stage at the Riverside Theater as her Christmas show ended early Saturday due to the threat, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

Cops said that canine units searched the 2,500-person venue.

“There is no threat to the public at this time,” the Milwaukee Police Department said.

The chaos was captured in a Twitter video shared by the user @sunny_seokkie.

One concertgoer told the Journal Sentinel the crowd was having a good time before the evacuation, calling the incident “sad.”

“It happened so quickly,” Scott Pierce wrote to the newspaper. “Everybody very calmly exited the theater in a disbelieving manner. I heard lots of comments about how sad it was that someone would pull such a pathetic stunt.”

Nicknamed the “Godmother of Soul,” LaBelle is a two-time Grammy winner known for songs such as “Lady Marmalade” and “If You Only Knew.”

Organizers are working with LaBelle to reschedule the concert, according to the Riverside Theater.

“We are thankful for the efforts of the Milwaukee Police Department and our customers and staff for their safe and orderly exit,” the venue said in a statement.
