Patsy Kensit 'very happy' as she's 'engaged for fifth time' after vowing to never marry again

Patsy Kensit is reportedly engaged for the fifth time.

Despite previously vowing never to walk down the aisle again, the actress, 54, is said to have accepted a multi-millionaire property tycoon's romantic and lavish proposal after a whirlwind five-week romance.

The star's alleged new engagement comes just weeks after the former Emmerdale actress confessed only two of her previous four marriages were 'significant', after first tying the knot in 1988 when she was just 20-years-old.

Patsy reportedly said 'yes' when lover Patric Cassidy got down on one knee during a fish supper on Tuesday night, following the pair being introduced to each other through friends and enjoying a five-week romance.

The Sun reports that a source said: "This has been a complete whirlwind romance.

"Both Patsy and Patric are smitten, and it just feels very right. He popped the question at Scott's in London on Tuesday, and after she celebrated they took over the bar at the nearby Connaught hotel and bought the whole room Cristal champagne."

The alleged insider added how although the pair have only been officially together for a short while, "Patsy is going with her heart".

When asked if the rumour were true on Friday [September 9], Patsy’s agent told the Mirror: "I cannot confirm or deny the engagement, however Patsy is very happy and she has asked me to thank you for asking."

Patsy was previously married to Dan Donovan, Jim Kerr, Oasis Liam Gallagher and DJ Jeremy Healy. The former Holby City actress shares son Lennon, 22, with Liam and son James, 28, with Jim - who both used to live with her in north London.

Speaking about her love life in June this year, Patsy admitted only two of her four marriages were 'significant'.

She told the Postcards From Midlife podcast: "Well, I married all my boyfriends, so... that was something that I've learned I needn't do.

"I can't change the rules of the law... [but] I was with Jim, and Lennon's dad for years, so I kind of count them as my two marriages."

The mum-of-two added: "I know that's not allowed, I know there was a ceremony. But I feel that those were the really significant relationships and very, very deep and wonderful in so many ways."

After splitting from her fourth husband in 2010, Patsy vowed never to get married again – explaining how the split from DJ Healy left her depressed and feeling 'foolish and ashamed'.

Discussing the divorce at the time: "This year has been truly, truly awful. I lost my confidence and ballooned from eight stone to 11.

"But I'm looking forward now, with one million per cent conviction, that I definitely won't be getting married again," she added to She magazine.

The star admitted that she was a 'hopeless romantic' when she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2015 – telling notorious gossip blogger Perez Hilton she 'basically married' all her boyfriends during a candid chat in the iconic house.

"I'm a hopeless romantic and wanted them all to work... I don't think I will ever get married again," Patsy said at the time. "I think I've ruined the sanctity of it.

"I do believe in love – I choose to believe in love. I won't let my past experiences change that. I definitely don't want to become one of those people."
