New England Patriots wide receiver Demario Douglas had an eventful game in the Week 2 matchup with the Miami Dolphins, and it wasn’t necessarily for the right reasons.
He recorded two receptions on two targets for 19 yards. However, it was his costly fumble in the first quarter that led to him being benched and not seeing any action for the rest of the night.

As for Douglas, he’s taking the entire incident in stride as a teaching moment.
“[Ball security] is the number one thing. I already know,” Douglas said in the locker room after the game. “That’s why I had the mindset I just got to come back next week harder for sure.”

It will be important for Douglas to bounce back next Sunday against the New York Jets. His on-field availability will be imperative for New England if they want to establish a rhythm on offense.
