The New England Patriots will be missing both of their starting safeties in Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
On Saturday, the team downgraded Jabrill Peppers as out with a shoulder injury, and on the list of inactives, ahead of kick-off against the Dolphins, Kyle Dugger was ruled out with an ankle injury.
Those two absences push Jaylinn Hawkins and rookie Dell Pettus up the depth chart for New England.
On a more positive note, veteran wide receiver Kendrick Bourne was not on the inactive list. So he’s set to make his 2024 debut.
Here’s the full list of inactives for both the Patriots and Dolphins:

It’s important to note that the Dolphins are still playing without their starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa. So they’ll be facing the Patriots with backup Tyler Huntley as the starter.
Both teams are banged up and coming off three straight losses. The team capable of overcoming adversity the best will ultimately come out the winner on Sunday.
