It’s still pretty early in the NFL season to anticipate the final standings, but there are already a handful of strong contenders for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. There are currently six teams with just one win through the first six weeks.
Two of those teams, the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars, play one another in Week 7. In a game exported to Great Britain, the English audience gets to witness two of the front-runners for the worst record battle.
The loser of this matchup earns any head-to-head tiebreaker for draft slotting. Moreover, the loss will also lower the strength of schedule component of the tiebreakers should there be more than two teams that finish with the same record.
We’ll learn a lot about the Patriots and their chances for the top pick in the next three weeks. New England plays 1-5 Jacksonville, the 2-4 Jets and the 1-5 Titans in that span.
