The New England Patriots open the 2023 season at Gillette Stadium on Sunday with a head-to-head showdown with the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles.
On paper, the Patriots appear to be outmatched in every category, but that hasn’t stopped some from picking them to pull off a monumental upset. There will be the aura of Tom Brady in the building. The legendary quarterback will be attending the game live to be honored for his near 20-year run with the Patriots.
Buy Patriots TicketsPhiladelphia is also coming off a Super Bowl loss. Strange things tend to happen for teams in their first real game back after failing to win a Lombardi Trophy. Perhaps a Super Bowl hangover could be in store for the Eagles in this matchup.
Of course, that’s all wishful thinking on the Patriots’ end. The Eagles are more loaded than they were in 2022, and they have a talented franchise quarterback in Jalen Hurts that stood amongst the elite last season.
Here’s how to watch the game.
