New England Patriots running back JaMycal Hasty was complimentary of rookie quarterback Drake Maye, despite the team’s 32-16 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Hasty was on the receiving end of one of Maye’s two touchdown passes in the game. After catching a short pass, Hasty juked a couple of defenders and scampered his way into the end zone.
The running back finished with five catches for 49 yards and his first touchdown of the season.
The reviews on Maye have been positive to this point, and Hasty is heaping even more praise on the 22-year-old signal-caller after the Week 7 game.
“Poise in the huddle. Poise on the sideline. Poise outside of the field. Just very even-keeled. Moment never too big for him – never rattled,” said Hasty.
RB JaMycal Hasty says the Patriots arrived back in town from London around 12:30-1 a.m.

There is certainly something to be said for the poise of the rookie.
The Patriots desperately needed to find their franchise quarterback for the future, and so far, Maye is gaining the trust of the players that he might be that guy.
