The New England Patriots will have high-level prospects coming in for a visit over the next couple of days. That includes Texas Tech defensive end Tyree Wilson.
He is scheduled to visit New England on Friday, per The MMQB’s Albert Breer.
Wilson is a projected top-10 draft selection. He was one of the most productive pass-rushers in the country, as he recorded 14 sacks and 27.5 tackles for a loss over two seasons with the Red Raiders. He was a victim of an injury bug, and he missed the last three games of the 2022 season. He did not work out at the combine or a pro day either.
Somebody like Wilson would give New England another talented pass-rusher to make life hard on opposing quarterbacks. The Patriots already have two of those in linebackers Matthew Judon and Josh Uche. Adding somebody like Wilson would make the defense even stronger and give them an aggressive trio to get after the quarterback.
The Patriots ranked third in the league last season with 50 sacks.
Texas Tech DE Tyree Wilson is doing 30 visits with the Jaguars (today), Cardinals (Wed), Raiders (Thu) and Patriots (Fri) this week. Jags and Pats sit lower than he'll go, but Wilson loved the idea of getting time with Doug Pederson and Bill Belichick.
(Wilson = a top 10 lock.)

It will be interesting to see if the Patriots take a defensive approach in this year’s draft. Wilson is the type of player that would definitely give them a spark on that side of the ball.
