The New England Patriots kick-started Day 3 of the 2024 NFL draft by selecting Texas A&M guard Layden Robinson with the No. 103 pick.
Robinson was named as one of the best players available for the Patriots on the board. His presence up front will add more depth and youth to an offensive line that had some aging pieces and was plagued with injuries last season.
Consistency has been the biggest issue for Robinson, who has shown tremendous promise in the trenches. On a good day, he could hold his own with some of the best defenders on the field, but that version of the player didn’t show up enough for the Aggies last season.
There is plenty to like about his potential with the right coaching. This is where the Patriots are going to need to do a better job than they have in the past of developing the young talent on their roster.
