New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers was blunt about Thursday’s performance against the New York Jets. The Patriots lost by a 24-3 margin in a game in which the Jets dominated throughout.
The Jets recorded 400 total offensive yards, while the Patriots were only able to muster 139 yards. The offensive line gave up seven sacks, and the defense struggled to contain quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who passed for 284 yards and two touchdowns on the evening.
New York was able to score a touchdown in three straight quarters, as the Patriots defense had no answers for the Jets’ offensive attack.
“Divisional game, primetime, we came out and got our asses kicked. Plain and simple,” Peppers told reporters, via NESN.com’s Mike Cole.
The schedule does not get any easier for the Patriots.
They’ll go on the road to take on the San Francisco 49ers as they continue to look for answers on both sides of the ball. One has to wonder where the team goes from here, as multiple positions struggled on Thursday night.
