The New England Patriots have released a statement on Friday’s report that cornerback Jack Jones was arrested at a security checkpoint at Logan Airport.
“We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today. We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time,” the statement from the Patriots read, via the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan.
Jones is reportedly facing two counts of multiple charges, including possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of an airport, possession of ammunition without a Firearm Identification Card, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.

The second-year cornerback was one of the top players in the defensive backfield for the Patriots throughout the spring practices. In some reps, he played opposite of rookie first-round draft pick Christian Gonzalez, while Jonathan Jones kicked back into the slot.
But it would seem as if Jack Jones is facing far more serious issues off the field for the time being.
