New England Patriots quarterback Drake May revealed one NFL moment from Thursday’s preseason game that he’ll remember for the rest of his life.
That moment was scoring his first NFL touchdown with five other rookies on the field, including wide receivers Ja’Lynn Polk and Javon Baker.
“It was definitely cool having those guys out there,” Maye said after the game, via NBC Sports Boston. “I think one of the first things I did was, I think I chest-bumped JP (Ja’Lynn Polk). So, it was cool to be out there with some of the guys that are in the same spot, going through the same thing. Fun times for us. It was a moment I’ll probably never forget.”
Maye had a successful outing against the Philadelphia Eagles. He went 6-of-11 passing through the air for 47 yards, along with four rushes for 15 yards and a touchdown, in the Patriots’ 14-13 loss.
It was a memorable day for the rookie quarterback, who saw his first extended action in the preseason.

If anything, Maye’s performance was the first major step in his development. The quarterback is still raw in terms of skill set.
Nevertheless, he flashed what he could do when under center. Time will tell if that’s enough to overtake Jacoby Brissett for the starting job in New England.
