The New England Patriots will likely be without a handful of potential starters at the outset of training camp when practices begin on Wednesday. New England placed center David Andrews, cornerback Jonathan Jones, linebacker Raekwon McMillan, safety Jabrill Peppers and running back James White on the physically unable to perform list, per the transaction wire.
Those players can return to the field as early as Day 1 of camp, though it’s abnormal for them to go on the PUP list and make an immediate return. Andrews appeared limited in minicamp. Jones is returning from ankle surgery. McMillan is returning from ACL surgery. White is returning from hip injury. And Peppers is coming back from ACL and ankle injuries.
Other Patriots updates ahead of training camp:
🤕 C David Andrews, CB Jonathan Jones, LB Raekwon McMillan, S Jabrill Peppers and RB James White will start camp on active/PUP list.

Every one of those players will in the mix to compete for starting jobs, and Andrews, Jones and White are projected starters in their roles.
