Patriots could get two key players back ahead of Week 1 matchup vs Dolphins

Things are starting to look up for the New England Patriots with the team potentially getting two key offensive players back on the field ahead of the Week 1 matchup on Sunday with the Miami Dolphins.

During an appearance on The Greg Hill Show on Monday, via NESN’s Zack Cox, coach Bill Belichick said every Patriots player “should have a shot” to suit up and play in the opener, outside of rookie receiver Tyquan Thornton, who is still recovering from a collarbone injury.

That “everyone” includes offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn and running back Ty Montgomery.

Considering the ongoing offensive line struggles, the Patriots would benefit greatly from Wynn playing and allowing the team to keep some form of structure intact.

The last thing the unit needs right now is to be playing musical chairs ahead of the first game of the season.

As for Montgomery, his possible return would clearly give quarterback Mac Jones another security blanket in a passing offense facing more questions than answers right now.
