New England Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo said the entire offense will be available for the team’s Week 3 preseason finale against the Washington Commanders.
There were certainly positive signs in Thursday night’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Rookie quarterback Drake Maye seemingly breathed life into the offense and led the unit down the field for his first ever NFL touchdown drive. The defensive unit for the Patriots also had another strong outing.
They expect to keep the train rolling into the finale like business as usual.
“I think the entire offense definitely needs to play and continue to jell, and that’s what we’re going to do,” Mayo told media members, via the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed.

The third preseason game will be the last opportunity for players to win over the coaching staff for a spot on the final roster. The Patriots clearly want to take stock of what they have on the offensive unit.
This could be a smart plan with the regular season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals right around the corner.
