Patriots C David Andrews heads to locker room after injury vs 49ers

New England Patriots center David Andrews was spotted heading to the locker room after the first offensive drive in Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Per an update from the team, Andrews is officially questionable to return with a shoulder injury.

The Patriots are already down multiple offensive linemen. Cole Strange has been out with a knee injury, and both Vederian Lowe and Michael Jordan were ruled out with injuries against San Francisco.

If Andrews misses time, veteran center Nick Leverett would be the next man up for the Patriots. The team struggled in the preseason whenever Andrews wasn’t on the field, particularly with the snap communication. Multiple mishandled balls led to fumbles for the Patriots.

This could be a major problem for the Patriots. San Francisco’s defensive line is one of the most formidable units in the league, and it’s spearheaded by former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa.
