Former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira has made a bold claim that the Gunners will win a league title at some point if they can keep the current squad together. It comes as the north London outfit embark on their biggest season for years, hunting down the Premier League once again.
It's been nearly 20-years since the title was draped in the red of Arsenal, but that could change this season after Mikel Arteta's extraordinary transformation of his side. They came into a clash against Man City holding a five point lead at the top of the table, but with two games extra played.
"We are going to try to win, that’s for sure, but after that there is another five games," Arteta told BT Sport ahead of the crunch match at the Etihad Stadium. "You see the fixtures and all the results that are happening, there is still a long way to go."

While there are questions over whether Arsenal will have a better chance to win the title than this season, Vieira has suggested their time can still come regardless of what happens in the next month. He told BT Sport: "I believe Mikel and his staff deserve a lot of credit. Because this is a really young team - really talented, but still really young.
"When you’re looking at the problems from last year, it’s really positive for the future. I believe this team, if they manage to stick together, they will grow and the future is ahead of them and they will win the title. They are progressing, they are getting better on the field, they are understanding the game, and I believe that they are really close."
It remains to be seen whether this side can continue their form for many seasons, especially with the amount of competitions they will have to compete in. However, they could be set up for longevity with their young side and there may be more opportunities to come.
