Sunderland are through to the fourth round of the FA Cup after a sensational injury-time fightback against League One Shrewsbury Town. The Black Cats dominated the game at the New Meadow but could not turn their possession into goals.
And when Matt Pennington headed the Shrews in front 10 minutes from time with a goal that came completely against the run of play, it looked as though it would be enough to dump Sunderland out of the cup. But Sunderland threw everything at Shrewsbury in the latter stages and they got their reward in stoppage time.
First, sub Ross Stewart headed them level in the 92nd minutes. And then two minutes later Luke O'Nien completed the turnaround when he scored the winner.
