Patrick Mahomes wears WWE belt and chugs beer at wild Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade

Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes donned a WWE championship belt while downing beers during his team’s celebration parade following their Super Bowl LVII win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

On Sunday night in Arizona, the Chiefs secured a dramatic 38-35 win over the Eagles in a game which will go down as an all-time classic. Kansas City quarterback Mahomes threw for 182 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Chiefs to a sensational win, which was secured by a late field goal from kicker Harrison Butker with just eight seconds remaining.

The Chiefs enjoyed their Super Bowl victory parade on Wednesday, with their buses frequently stopping on Grand Boulevard as players greeted fans who lined both sides of the street. Travis Kelce, Butker and Mahomes signed autographs and gave out high-fives while fans threw beers and other alcohols into the players’ arms.

Mahomes’ ankle seemed fine as he zigged and zagged across the street to greet fans during the parade. While on the bus, Mahomes danced and showed off his Super Bowl MVP award - even joking to throw his individual accolade, which is a silver American football.

As he danced and celebrated on the bus, Mahomes also wore the WWE championship belt that he had on hours after the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVII. He appeared to be somewhat drunk as cameras captured the two-time MVP downed a beer on the bus with quarterbacks coach Matt Nagy giving him a helping hand.

One worrying moment saw Mahomes almost fall off the championship parade bus. The 27-year-old tried to chug an ice-cold Coors Light to the cheers of the adoring crowd, only to wobble slightly as he leaned over the rails, with Nagy pushing him back up and holding his body as the quarterback drank his beer.

Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones nearly fell off the top level of a double-decker bus, but was able to catch himself before suffering any injury. Meanwhile, the team had a guest of honour in Donna Kelce, the mother of Chiefs tight end Travis and Philadelphia Eagles center Jason - who became the first two brothers in NFL history to square off in a Super Bowl last week.

The bus parade ultimately finished at a rally at Union Station, the 109-year-old Beaux-Arts style facility in downtown Kansas City. At the event, Mahomes declared: “They said we were rebuilding. I’ll be honest with you, I don't know what rebuilding means. In our rebuilding year, we're world champs!”

At one point. Mahomes even poured a beer into Kelce's mouth from atop a double-decker bus as the All-Pro tight stood on the ground below. At the rally, the tight end added: “The haters were saying the Chiefs would never make the playoffs. Let's run this s*** back!”
