Texas Tech and Wyoming squared off in a thrilling nonconference football matchup Saturday night, and Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen were riveted to the action.
Mahomes, the two-time NFL MVP from the Kansas City Chiefs, threw for 11,252 yards in 32 games over three seasons at Texas Tech from 2014 through ’16. Allen, a two-time Pro Bowl selection from the Buffalo Bills, passed for 5,066 yards in 27 games over three seasons at Wyoming from 2015 through ’17.
As Saturday night’s game between the Red Raiders and Cowboys crept into crunch time, the two NFL star quarterbacks exchanged nudges on social media.
“we got a ball game in Laramie!” Allen wrote while tagging Mahomes.
The Chiefs QB replied by sharing the famous “Sweating Jordan Peele” meme, implying he was anxious as the Red Raiders struggled with the Cowboys at altitude.

Unfortunately, the QBs didn’t share postgame pleasantries, but Allen did post a hearty “LET’S GO!!!!!!!!!!” after Wyoming held on to beat Texas Tech, 35–33, in double overtime.
LET’S GO!!!!!!!!!!
