The Jets have spent the better part of the past four weeks attempting to tweak and modify their offense for life without the injured Aaron Rodgers. But after backup quarterback Zach Wilson went toe to toe with Patrick Mahomes in a narrow loss Sunday night, the Chiefs signal-caller made it known he saw shades of the future Hall of Famer on the field Sunday night.
“Hey you played like f—ing Aaron Rodgers. You got the f—ing talent. Just f—ing go out there and ball,” Mahomes was heard telling Wilson, per the Chiefs.

It was a cool moment between Mahomes and Wilson, and a tip of the cap goes to the Kansas City star for his sportsmanship after an impressive showing from the 24-year-old.
Wilson finished the night completing 28 of 39 attempts for 245 yards and two touchdown passes without an interception in a 23-20 loss. Not only did Wilson statistically outduel Mahomes, but he did so on the national stage in a prime-time game on Sunday Night Football.
There are still plenty of questions to be answered for the Jets, but this version of Wilson looks like a player capable of keeping things afloat and making a push for the postseason.
