Patrick Mahomes has embraced the rich history of sports in Kansas City since joining the Chiefs in 2017, and as a three-time Super Bowl champion, he has cemented his legacy as one of the most accomplished athletes of his time.
On Wednesday, Mahomes announced the launch of his newest line of shoes with Adidas that pays tribute to the Kansas City Monarchs, a baseball team that was a powerhouse in the Negro Leagues from 1920 until 1965 and paved the way for superstars like Buck O’Neil, Satchel Paige, and Jackie Robinson.
Mahomes’ new line of shoes features the Monarchs’ red, white, and blue color scheme, paying homage to the black athletes who came before him in Kansas City.
