Patrick Kielty has confirmed he will receive a salary of €250,000 as Late Late Show host.
The comedian and broadcaster previously agreed to disclose details of his salary amid the ongoing pay crisis in RTE. Executives will meet before the Dail at 1:30pm today as the fallout over Ryan Tubridy's undisclosed earnings escalates.
Kielty will also be awarded an additional €20,000 for rehearsals and the season's planning. The 52-year-old lives in the UK but confirmed he will pay for his own flights and accommodation during his Late Late Show tenure. He confirmed his pay details in a statement released this afternoon.
The full statement reads: “I’m pleased to finally be able to share that I’ve signed a three season deal to host The Late Late Show beginning this September.

"I’m being paid €250,000 per 30 show season. If additional shows are requested by RTE, they’ll be paid on a pro-rata basis.
"I’m also receiving a one-off payment of €20,000 to cover the pre-production and rehearsals from now to September. The contract allows me to submit flight and accommodation expenses, but I’ve waived this.
"I’ve made it clear to RTE that I will be covering my own flights and accommodation costs. I’ve also asked RTE to carbon offset my flights. I genuinely hope this helps clarify things going forward. I can’t wait to get started.”
Tubridy remains off air as RTE face further questions about errors made surrounding his pay. Dee Forbes resigned from the organisation amid the scandal and will not attend the Oireachtas Media Committees due to health reasons.
The former Late Late Show host unreservedly apologised for "failing to ask questions" surrounding his pay. RTE's Interim Director General Adrian Lynch previously admitted it was "impossible" for Ryan to remain on air during the current controversy.
