Patrick Kielty has taken the rare step of revealing his new pay cheque after signing a lucrative deal.
The TV star was announced as the latest host of RTÉ's Late Late Show.
Patrick, who is married to fellow presenter Cat Deeley, will host the popular show for three seasons after stepping into the shoes of former host Ryan Tubridy.
There have been calls for Patrick's salary to be published after controversy surrounding undisclosed payments to the former host were uncovered.
In a statement, Patrick said: "I'm pleased to finally be able to share that I've signed a three-season deal to host The Late Late Show beginning this September.
"I'm being paid €250,000 per 30-show season. If additional shows are requested by RTÉ, they'll be paid on a pro-rata basis.
"I'm also receiving a one-off payment of €20,000 to cover the pre-production and rehearsals from now to September.
"The contract allows me to submit flight and accommodation expenses, but I've waived this. I've made it clear to RTÉ that I will be covering my own flights and accommodation costs.
"I've also asked RTÉ to carbon offset my flights. I genuinely hope this helps clarify things going forward. I can't wait to get started."
Former Late Late Show host Ryan received €345,000 (£296,000) more than what the broadcaster had declared in its earnings report between 2017 and 2022.
The payments were discovered after the company's auditors alerted the board of the national broadcaster to some of the transactions.
Speaking before an Oireachtas (Irish parliament) committee on Wednesday, the broadcaster's chair Siún Ní Raghallaigh apologised for the "egregious breach of trust with the public".
"The public, RTÉ staff, and public representatives are angry and hurt," she told the media scrutiny committee.
"We know that our bond of trust with the public is tarnished.
"We know that trust is precious, and that once lost, trust is difficult to regain."
It's understood RTÉ's Remuneration Committee is due to discuss the. new host's pay deal at a meeting on Friday.
Patrick's statement comes after a number of politicians called on the broadcaster to make the remuneration package public.
