Patrice Evra has revealed how he saw Luis Suarez in Selfridges in Manchester after suffering from racist abuse during a match between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League.
Evra was subjected to racist abuse by Liverpool striker Suarez in October 2011, leading to a lengthy court case and an apology from the Reds years later.
The Uruguayan was charged with racially abusing Evra, and subsequently didn't shake the left-backs hand in the return fixture later in the season. Evra has forgiven the Atletico Madrid striker for what happened at Anfield, but reveals how they could have come to blows in Selfridges after the row.

"Later, I saw him one day in Selfridges in Manchester city centre. I was with my brother; he was with his wife and daughter. My brother said, 'Look, he’s there – let’s go and have it out with him.'
"But we couldn’t, not with family. Years later I played against him in the Champions League final for Juventus against Barcelona – we shook hands and wished each other luck. Liverpool apologised to me years later, which I appreciated.
“After I received a letter from the owner of Liverpool. It was so nice, and many of my friends were like ‘Patrice you should forgive them’, I say ‘guys, it’s never too late.’ I don’t have any hate."
