PATNA: The Patna high court on Tuesday slapped cost of Rs 25,000 on health department for its “reckless attitude” shown in conducting disciplinary proceeding against its officer.
A single bench of Justice P B Bajanthari, while allowing the writ petition of Dr Arun Kumar Tiwary, quashed the order of dismissal of the petitioner. He directed the principal secretary of health department to take decision within a month on point of payment of back wages and all retirement benefits to the petitioner. The court gave clear reason for imposing such exemplary cost in its order.
