There has been another death in Tasmania, as a man in his 60s, with underlying conditions, dies with COVID-19.
Tasmanian Health Minister Jeremy Rockliff said the man was being treated for pneumonia when he died "with COVID a contributing factor".
He tested positive the day before he died.
Mr Rockliff said the man was a palliating patient, receiving care at home under a GP.
"I would like to pass on my sincerest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the man who has sadly passed away," Mr Rockliff said.
To date, 11 people have died with COVID-19 in the state since it reopened its borders on December 15.
In total, 24 people in Tasmania have died with COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in 2020.
Since the last reporting period, Tasmania has seen a decrease in cases — 585 new cases today, compared to 623 yesterday.
The state's total number of active cases has reached 3,562.
There are 12 people in hospital who have COVID-19, but seven of them are being treated for COVID symptoms. Two patients are in ICU, same as Friday.
Over 99 per cent of people aged 12 and over have had at least one dose of a vaccine while 96 per cent have had two doses.
More than 52 per cent of Tasmanians have now received their booster dose.
"The evidence remains clear that the most important thing you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones is to remain up-to-date with your COVID vaccination," Mr Rockliff said.
"Vaccination remains our best protection against COVID, and this now includes the booster dose."
