A Gold Coast rollercoaster came to a stop mid-ride after a scarf became entangled on its wheels.
Passengers stuck on Movie World's DC Rivals HyperCoaster were eventually fitted with harnesses and escorted off on Friday afternoon.
No one was injured.
"Our highly-trained ride operators identified a loose item (scarf) had become entangled around the train wheel of the DC Rivals HyperCoaster and used their ride control system to safely stop the ride on the lift hill as a precaution," a Warner Bros Movie World spokesman said.
The rollercoaster was reportedly stopped after 3pm AEST with the last of the thrill seekers escorted along a 60m track to safety at about 5.30pm.
"The ride operator and the ride's safety systems have done what they are trained and designed to do, and all the guests on board are safe with the ride vehicle stopped in a designated zone," the spokesman said in a statement.
"Our team exited the guests down the lift hill which is a process we regularly train for and simply requires the guests to walk down the stairs to the load station.
"Due to the height of the lift hill, we provided a harness for the guests."
The 1.4km ride - described as the southern hemisphere's tallest, longest and fastest HyperCoaster - was set to resume operation after the scarf's removal.
"We understand ride stoppages can be frustrating for guests and it is for reasons such as these why loose items are not permitted to be taken on-board rides and attractions," the spokesman said.
"We encourage guests to follow all instructions of our operators."
