'Party tomorrow!' - Man City fans go wild as Pep Guardiola's men secure Premier League title

Jubilant Manchester City supporters are in party mode after their side clinched a third consecutive Premier League title.

While their destiny has appeared certain for some time, Arsenal’s defeat to Nottingham Forest confirmed that the trophy will remain in Manchester. Taiwo Awoniyi’s early strike proved the difference and put the final nail into the Gunners’ coffin.

Pep Guardiola secured a fifth Premier League in six years to continue his dominance in English football. Sitting eight points adrift of Arsenal in early April, City’s relentless 11-game winning run has resulted in them being crowned champions again.

No final-day drama was needed this time around, with Guardiola’s side securing the trophy with three games remaining. City take on Chelsea at the Etihad tomorrow, a day that promises to be full of celebration, regardless of the result.

Another league title moves City up to joint fourth with Everton in the all-time leaderboard. Only bitter rivals Manchester United (20), Liverpool (19) and Arsenal (13) are ahead of them in the pecking order.

Away from City, the win over Arsenal was equally as important for Forest. Three points for Steve Cooper’s side confirmed their top-flight status for another season - a feat that seemed unlikely at the start of the campaign.

But the relegation fight was the last thing on City fans’ minds once the full-time whistle blew at the City Ground. One supporter suggested Guardiola has transformed the Premier League into his "play farm" - with no side winning three consecutive titles since United in 07, 08 and 09.
