Parts of Inverclyde town left underwater after flash flooding

Pic: Inverclyde Roadwatch

PARTS of Gourock were submerged after the town was hit by a spell of torrential rain.

Mallard Crescent and Shore Street were both left underwater following a prolonged heavy downpour on Sunday night.

The freak weather caused parts of the roads to become inaccessible to pedestrians, with cars and buses struggling to get through the flooding.

It took several hours to subside and the areas to become passable.
