Parklife boss Sacha Lord has tied the knot with his partner Demi Mclaughlin in a romantic wedding ceremony in Capri, not leaving out a touch of Manchester. Sacha, the night time economy adviser for Greater Manchester, and Demi, a category manager for the online retailer Very, were joined by 30 of their closest friends and family for a three day celebration in Capri, an island in Italy's Bay of Naples.
The wedding on Saturday April 30 should have been held last year, but was postponed because of Covid-19. Guests arrived the night before for a pre-wedding dinner in a lemon grove.
On Sunday the wedding party were all taken by boat to a beach club set amongst rocks. The newlyweds' first dance was to Heroes by David Bowie, they brought in local bands from Naples to sing Italian songs throughout the day and they left the ceremony to a harpist playing Wonderwall by Manchester rock band Oasis.

Sharing stunning snaps from their special day on Twitter he announced: "30.04.22. Mr and Mrs Lord. Capri." And the congratulations came pouring in with messages from well-wishers including Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent who said: "Congratulations to you both."
Sacha, the co-creator of the annual Parklife festival and The Warehouse Project series of club nights, even moved the waiting staff to tears when they got engaged at a London restaurant as a surprise for Demi's birthday.
After pretending to play the occasion down, she received a card with a note instructing her to pack an overnight bag. Sacha had booked them in at their favourite hotel The Edition with a birthday cake waiting for Demi in the room and in the evening a car took them to Gordon Ramsay’s flagship three Michelin star restaurant on Hospital Road in Chelsea.
And when he got down on one knee it wasn’t just Demi who was overcome with emotion as she accepted his proposal because some of the restaurant staff starting crying too. Sacha explained at the time: “I had managed to secure the chefs table, which has months and months waiting list but I pulled a few strings and we had the tasting menu."
He sai: “Head chef Matt Abe brought out each course and explained everything in detail. What Demi didn’t know is that I’d been speaking to Matt over a period of time and arranged the ring to be sent to the restaurant and Matt incorporated the ring into the dessert.
“There were a few desserts but he brought a cloche in and just left it in the middle of the table. The staff all disappeared and I asked Demi to lift the lid off. “When I popped the question Demi burst out into tears but weirdly, so did some of the waiters!”
Sacha. from Altrincham, met Demi, from Dunfermline in Fife, Scotland in the gym at Hale Country Club in 2017. Sacha was appointed as Greater Manchester’s first ‘night tsar’ in 2018 by the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham to act as an official champion for the region’s nightlife, identifying what’s missing as well as trying to make nights out in the region safer and providing better transport.
