Parked vehicles vandalised in Kolhapur

KOLHAPUR: As many as 14 four-wheelers parked at the backside of Padmavati Temple in Mangalwar Peth area of Kolhapur were vandalized by an unidentified miscreant in the wee hours of Saturday.

The incident came into light when people went for a morning walk. Only the windshields of these four-wheelers were found to be broken.

Meanwhile, officials from Juna-Rajwada police station in Kolhapur took one person into custody from the same area where the incident happened.

According to police, the accused came home late last night after which a fight broke out in his family due to some domestic reasons. In anger, the accused hit his own mother and sister and then vandalized the vehicles parked in the area.

An iron rod was recovered from his house. Further investigation into the matter is under way.
