Paris Paralympics: Shuttler Manasi Joshi's campaign ends after heartbreaking loss

NEW DELHI: India para shuttler Manasi Joshi was eliminated from the women's singles SL3 Group A match at the current Paralympics in Paris when Oksana Kozyna of Ukraine orchestrated an incredible comeback at the Porte de La Chapelle Arena.

Similar to her first Group A encounter, Manasi won the first set but dropped the following two, ultimately losing, as per ANI.

Manasi led the opening set and established a commanding lead by keeping a comfortable lead. She quickly accelerated to a 21-10 victory in the first set to take a 1-0 lead.

Oksana replied masterfully in the second set, turning the tide with a strong performance all around. She put Manasi on the defensive and won 21-15 to even the score at 1.

Manasi calmed down in the match-deciding encounter and appeared ready to win. But Oksana was planning something else. She won the game 21-23, overcoming a three-point deficit in the closing minutes. The loss guaranteed Manasi's elimination from the competition.
